In the aftermath of the United Kingdom’s departure from the Emirati lands, the leaders of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Al-Ain, and Sharjah made a historic decision to unite. On December 2, 1971, these six emirates proclaimed their independence, laying the foundation for forming the United Arab Emirates. Subsequently, Ras Al Khaimah, the seventh emirate, joined this collaborative effort. Remarkably, the UAE’s pursuit of freedom from colonisation stood in stark contrast to other regions, as it was achieved without the stain of brutality and bloodshed. <\/span>In December, UAE residents can look forward to a substantial four-day holiday in celebration of the upcoming UAE National Day 2023. Both private and public sectors will observe a weekend pause in activities, allowing residents to indulge in an extended and well-deserved break.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the UAE National Day approaches, marking 52 years since the merger of the emirates, many festivities and celebrations are scheduled throughout the country. Notably, this celebratory period will include an additional holiday known as Commemoration Day, adding an extra element of significance to the occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n
