How to Apply for Canadian International School? Step-by-Step Process

To apply for Canadian International School, follow these steps:

Step 1: Register your interest. 

You can register your interest by emailing the school with your full name, recent reports, Emirates ID, and a copy of your passport.

Step 2: Be placed on the waiting list.

The admissions department will place you on the waiting list and contact you as soon as a spot becomes available.

Step 3: Check the status of your application. 

You can check the status of your application by emailing the admissions department on the first day of every month.

Step 4: Complete the application form.

If you are successful, you will be contacted by the school and asked to complete the application form available on the school's website.

Step 5: Submit the application form and required documents. 

You must submit a hard copy of the application form and the following required documents to the school campus:

  • Recent report cards (last academic year and mid-term report for the current year)
  • Copy of applicant's Emirates ID card (or passport if Emirates ID is not yet available)
  • Emirates ID card of both parents
  • Passport copy of applicant and both parents
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (6 cm x 4 cm)
  • Birth certificate of the applicant
  • Immunisation card
  • Applicant's health insurance card
  • Complete official transcripts (for Grade 11 and 12 applicants)
  • Options sheet (for Grade 7 to 12 applicants)
  • Attested transfer certificate from the previous school (for outside Emirates or overseas applicants)

All documents must be in English or Arabic, or accompanied by an official UAE translation.

Please note:

  • School tours are held every Thursday morning at 10:00 am.
  • If your child is studying in a British school, they may be offered a place in a different year, as the grade/year levels do not align between the British system and Alberta Education.

School Facilities

Transportation Facility at Canadian International School

CIS offers a bus service to all students, run by Emirates Transport, an ADEK-approved company.

To sign up for the bus, fill out the form on the CIS website. Emirates Transport will then contact you to confirm the registration and bus stop location. The service is subject to availability.

All buses have a monitor to look after kids during the ride. You can choose a one-way service, but there's no discount.

The total fee for a school year is AED 4,600, payable in three instalments:

  • 1st Instalment: AED 1,840, due on/before August 18
  • 2nd Instalment: AED 1,380, due on/before December 9
  • 3rd Instalment: AED 1,380, due on/before March 10
