The United Arab Emirates is celebrating 51 years of Spirit of the Union. UAE National Day commemorates the unification of the seven Emirate states on December 2 every year. The citizens come together to celebrate the UAE National Day holiday every year with dance, music and fireworks. The sheikhdoms signed a British Protectorates Treaty in 1820, which allowed the British to exploit these lands of the Middle East. The British withdrew themselves from the Treaty in 1968, which led to the unification of nations. The United Arab Emirates was formed on December 2, 1971, when Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah were united. For the 51st UAE National Day, the celebration will last four days- from December 1 to December 4, 2022. The theme of UAE National Day 2022 is to honour those who have made UAE one of the most powerful countries in the world.
51st UAE National Day 2022 Celebrations in Abu Dhabi
The 51st celebrations are one step ahead of last year in the capital. The events will focus on futuristic celebrations. Abu Dhabi will be vibrant in red, green, white and black. Citizens will dress up in the colours of the flag. The sky will be shimmering due to the fireworks at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall ( at 9:00 pm), Al Maryah Island, and Al Wathbah in Sheikh Zayed Festival (ticket prices starting from AED5). The celebrations at Al Maryah Island will take place on the 2nd and the 3rd of December. Bawabat Al Sharq Mall started the celebration since November 24.
51st National Day 2022 Celebration- Timing, Location and Date
The celebrations of the United Arab Emirates National Day will commence at the end of November. The National Day show will air on TV on December 2. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre will have live events from December 3 to December 11. following the National Day show. Venues all over Dubai will present a fireworks display at 9 pm on December 2 and 3.
Announces Official Public Holidays For National Day 2022
The UAE government announced a long weekend holiday for private and public sectors. Government officials declared December 1 as a national holiday for Martyr’s Day and December 2 as the National UAE Day. The UAE authorities encourage citizens to tour the country and reminisce about its historical foundation.

Abu Dhabi Air Show
Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Fursan will be hosting the National Day 2022, on 2nd December, between 4-5 pm. New fighter jets like F-16 and MIrage-2000 will take part.

Global Village Events – UAE National Day
Global Village has organised a plethora of events and performances. The events commence on December 1. The spectators will witness art, music, dance and other entertaining functions at Global Village Dubai till 4th December. An orchestra with 33 musical geniuses, a violinist and a harpist is invited to encompass the air of Global Village with the national anthem of UAE and Emirati traditional music.
The Village will be decorated with lights, national flags and verses of the national anthem. There are 27 pavilions and the centre stage where the performances take place. The visitors can enjoy traditional food and buy merchandise from the pavilions of UAE, Al Sana’a and Khalifa Foundation.
There will be fireworks every day at 9 pm from the 1st till the 4th of December.

Fireworks at La Mer Dubai Beach
Even though fireworks are quite regular at La Mer, the beauty of the show on the UAE National Day is exceptional. La Mer will light up the sky on December 3. The fireworks will take place at 9 p.m. on the 1st and 2nd of December with the concerts of Fouad Mohamed Al Shehhi and Abdul Wahed.

Fireworks reflecting onto the natural saltwater creek are a sight to behold. Catch this sight on December 2 and 3 at 8:30 p.m. Be sure to reach the venue a bit early.

To view the spectacular fireworks on the UAE Independence Day, just stride toward Zayed Heritage Festival, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, promptly at 9 p.m. You can also visit the Abu Dhabi Corniche or Al Dahfra for the fireworks display.

Zayed Sports City Stadium is going to house a 22,000 audience for the mega show called This is Zayed, This is UAE. The spectators will get the opportunity to bask in the glory of digital art and performances by famous artists.

The Dubai Mall will host falcon shows, fish net making, embroidery, date testing, and henna painting. The world’s largest mall will provide traditional hospitality to visitors. Dubai Mall will offer traditional coffee and date desserts to visitors. The events will take place between December 1 and 3.

Sheikh Zayed Festival
The Sheikh Zayed Festival will be paying tribute to the founder of the UAE during the National Day celebrations in Abu Dhabi. The festival will highlight Emirati culture, food, and lifestyle. All the pavilions of the Sheikh Zayed Festival will participate in disseminating the cultural heritage of the UAE to its visitors. The epic fireworks display which would take place on 2nd and 3rd December are not to be missed. The Sheikh Zayed Festival- National Day Celebration would take place on Friday and Saturday from 4 pm onwards.

Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC)
The credit for the development of the UAE is due to the legends who made it what it is today. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre has indulged in futuristic technologies to showcase the growth and future of the United Arab Emirates toward 2071. The producers of the show aim to showcase the journey of the UAE from the past to the future while showing the evolution of Emirati culture and heritage. The exhibition will be open to the public from December 3 till December 11.
UAE National Day 2022 COVID Rules
The UAE government has eased a few restrictions. However, due to the magnitude of the National Day celebrations, the following rules have been put in place :

- Green pass on Al Hosn is mandatory within the last 30 days
- A negative PCR test is required before entering venues. The test should not be older than 96 hours before the event. The temperature will be checked upon entry
- The capacity will be curtailed at 80% at the events. The spectators are requested to reach the venues before the time
- People are to maintain a gap of 1.5m between strangers. Families are allowed to stand together
- People of all ages are allowed to enter the event, provided that they have been vaccinated 14 days before the event
- The visitors are requested to purchase all tickets online.
